NCA20940 High Voltage Authorising Engineer, service and maintenance

Tender description

This service contract is crucial to the continuation of the safe and legally compliant operation of the University of Edinburgh's High Voltage (HV) Equipment and associated systems. Appoint a single supplier to provide the Inspection, Service and Maintenance of the University’s High Voltage (HV) Equipment and associated systems. The HV Authorising Engineer service has been identified as business critical. Under Regulation 6(1)(c) of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016, a contracting authority may award a contract without competition based on the following justification: Where it is strictly necessary for reasons of extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable and not attributable to the University. This is also in line with the Scottish Procurement Policy Note SPPN 4/2020 20 March 2020: PROCUREMENT REGULATIONS DURING COVID-19 OUTBREAK. This contract is required to ensure the University's High Voltage Equipment and associated systems are operating safely and in full compliance to all regulatory requirements throughout the estate.
