Tender description
Contractor logistic support services in support of the AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS). The Air Platform Systems (APS) team, part of the UK Ministry of Defence intends to place a 5-year contract with BAE Systems North America for contractor logistic support services in support of the AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS). It is considered that this contract can be placed using the negotiated procedure without prior publication of a contract notice pursuant to Article 28(1)(e) of Directive 2009/81/EC (Regulation 16 (1)(a)(ii) of the UK Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011) for technical reasons. This is because only BAE Systems has the detailed knowledge, know-how and experience relating to the system which was developed by the original equipment manufacturer and subsequently over the 11 years since inception of the system, to which access is essential to enable the services to be provided.
