Tender description
The Mayor’s Transport Strategy (MTS) sets a target for 80 per cent of all journeys to be made on foot, by cycle or using public transport by 2041. Our ambition is to enable all Londoners to walk or cycle more to reduce car dependency, improve health, tackle inactivity and improve social inclusion and wellbeing. Transport for London wish to appoint a single service provider for the provisions of administrating TfL’s Walking and Cycling Grants Programme. The target audience for the grant programme is groups within London that are traditionally under-represented in walking and cycling. Transport for London wish to appoint a single service provider for the provisions of administrating TfL’s Walking and Cycling Grants Programme as a successor to the current grants programme (tfl_scp_00114 – Community Cycling Grants for London). The target audience for the grant programme is groups within London that are traditionally under-represented in walking and cycling. For the purpose of this brief, the definition of an under-represented group is as follows: Groups and individuals who are difficult to engage with from an organisational perspective because they are disengaged from the usual range of mass media, and educational or business engagement. Where individuals have personal walking and cycling barriers, such as income, equipment, health, ability, skills or information, which may be overcome through participation. The funding is available for the following groups to bid for: — community groups, — BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) groups, — deprived groups, — Not for profit organisations, — social enterprise groups, — NEETS (Not in Education, Employment or Training), — disability groups: respite care, educational, social, sports, — Health services , — Youth services, — family services.
