Dudley Council's Wayfinding System

Tender description

Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council invites tender bids from suitable specialist contractors in order to develop a Wayfinding System for the Dudley Borough. The Council is seeking an experienced contractor to create an effective signage system throughout the borough, initially along the Metro corridor and Dudley town centre. Provide consistent recognizable branded signage and give visitors and the traveller the information that they need. The objectives of this Wayfinding System are to improve network legibility, increase walking and cycling (active travel), improve journey quality, provide economic benefits, improve the visitor experience, provide benefits to all stakeholders and reveal and promote leisure routes. The contractor will be required to create an identity for: Dudley, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and The Lye linked to the Metro and the Transport for West Midlands Interconnect system. Use landmarks to provide orientation cues and memorable locations, create well-structured paths, create areas of differing visual character, Aid the user in choices of navigation and encourage active travel. The contract duration is 18 Months commencing from 1st October 2020.
