TO ALL POTENTIAL BIDDERS THIS OPPORTUNITY HAS BEEN RE OPENED ON 10 AUGUST 2020 REVISED CLOSING DATE FOR SUBMISSIONS 4PM WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2020 The West Midlands Resource Technical Advisory Body (WMRTAB) is a group consisting of: Waste Planning Authorities (WPAs), primarily from the former West Midlands Region; representatives from the waste management industry; and other interested parties, that work collaboratively on waste planning issues. The role of WMRTAB is to support co-operation between WPAs and others, by providing objective and authoritative technical advice concerning the sustainable management of material resources and strategic waste management data, issues, and development policies and proposals. Local Planning Authorities have a duty to cooperate on 'strategic matters' relating to sustainable development or use of land that has or would have a significant impact on at least two planning areas. (R)TABs are an established mechanism for undertaking this level of strategic cooperation. A review of the WMRTAB terms of reference commenced in Autumn 2019. This identified that member WPAs consider that WMRTAB performs an essential role in the relation to the duty to cooperate. Worcestershire County Council (WCC) on behalf of WMRTAB is seeking tenders from suitably experienced consultants to act as WMRTAB Chair and Technical Lead. Worcestershire County Council is the current budget holder for WMRTAB and will be responsible for monitoring delivery of the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), however this role is jointly funded by the member WPAs and strategic work priorities will be set at the RTAB meetings.
