Southampton City CCG are holding a market engagement event for a clinical assessment service (CAS). The event will be held virtually due to the current pandemic on the 14th July AM. Southampton City CCG is currently working collaboratively with CCGs across Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and Surrey Heath to commission comprehensive Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) services for our populations. As part of this programme it is the intention of Southampton City CCG to procure a provider contract for the provision of a local clinical assessment service. The overarching aim of the service is to provide a clinical remote (largely telephony) service to assist in the management of urgent care demand within the health and care system. As part of this programme it is the intention of Southampton City CCG to procure a provider contract for the provision of a local clinical assessment service. The overarching aim of the service is to provide a clinical remote (largely telephony) service to assist in the management of urgent care demand within the health and care system. Linked to the Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) programme, the service will provide a clinical assessment service (CAS) as part of its core function, ensuring additional clinical input into the NHS 111 and 999 service and acting as a key entry point into local urgent care services to provide effective and timely remote (largely telephone) clinical assessment for people accessing healthcare via our integrated urgent care services — most notably via NHS 111. The CAS will form an integral local component of the wider Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Surrey Heath wide Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) system. The IUC service which has been procured from South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) will be providing the NHS 111 service to Southampton patients alongside a small number of clinical desks that are best provided at scale. The CAS is expected to go live on 1 June 2021.
