Tender description

We are eager to appoint a company / suitable person to prepare and implement an interpretation plan for the area of Dinorwig Quarry. Comission Tasks: 1. Identify appropriate areas for interpretation, which include the areas of Allt Ddu, Ffiar Injan, Viewpoint, Dre Newydd (Anglesey Barracks), Pen Draw Community and Woodland. 2. Engage with the Deiniolen and Dinorwig Community Destination Plan group and local historians to ensure that the history the community is eager to tell is translated into an imaginative and creative writing style appropriate to an interpretation panel. 3. Engage, discuss and agree on the proposals for interpretation with the National Slate Museum and Gwynedd Council to ensure integration with their vision for the redevelopment and reinterpretation project of the Gilfach Ddu and Parc Padarn sites. 4. Design, write text, and install interpretation panels in the appropriate identified locations, using digital interpretation methods for the site where possible and appropriate e.g. History Points, QR codes, Ibeacons. 5. Ensure copyright of photos used. 6. Responsibility for preparing designs and Planning Application arrangements for the installation of the Interpretation Panels and engaging with relevant landowners (including Parc Padarn / Gwynedd Council and Engie). Ancient Scheduled Monument Consent will also need to be considered and arranged (if appropriate). 7. In discussion with Parc Padarn, update the existing circular walks pack of 4 leaflets and combine them by designing and re-working the text into one new circular walks leaflet with map (Padarn Lake Walk, Vivian Trail, Woodland Walks, Nature Trail). It will also be required to identify the locations where signposts that accompany the walks need to be repaired. Provide bilingual pdf copies and original designs ready for printing. 8. Use the Wales Slate Brand Guidelines and relevant funders logos. 10. Ensure the information is factually accurate and uses the original terms / names of the industry era. This can be checked with the Nomination Team. 11. Complete the final work bilingually (Welsh and English).
