Tender description

This invitation to tender is to establish a framework agreement for the supply of transport services principally for the conveyance of children and young people to schools and other educational establishments. However, it may also be used to provide replacement transport services where roadworks prevent a local bus service from serving its normal route and may also be used for the provision of other transport services for Fife Council, including the transport of school meals. Contracts operated through this framework can generally be undertaken by taxis, private hire cars and minibuses, including the requirement for some of these vehicles to be capable of carrying passengers in wheelchairs. All journeys required will be organised, booked and managed by Fife Council staff or Fife College staff as Fife College will also be able to use this framework. Contracts will be awarded using the direct purchase method described in the invitation to tender issued. Services that require a minimum of four passenger seats. Services requiring a minimum of five to eight passenger seats. Wheelchair accessible services requiring a minimum of five to eight passenger seats. Minibus services with a minimum of 9 to 16 passenger seats. Wheelchair accessible minibus services with a minimum of 9 to 16 passenger seats. Large minibus services with a minimum of 17 to 22 passenger seats.
