Tender description

NGN currently use a portfolio of DNV GL’s products to support business critical operations. However, most of these products are working on old versions and are built on an ageing operating system, such as Windows 2003, which are now unsupported. Most applications are simple version upgrades and are being migrated to our AWS infrastructure. However, DDS and HPMIS applications require more significant change. These two applications will be hosted on DNV's SaaS infrastructure. The Demand Derivation System (DDS) is used by NGN to derive and manage demand data for use in the Synergi Gas network analysis application. The network analysis capability is one of NGN’s safety case commitments and is used to make investment and operational decisions. However, DDS has reached end of life, does not integrate well with its surrounding systems and is extremely challenging to support or change, leading to significant manual intervention to manage certain key business processes. DNV GL have developed new software, IDS, which will allow NGN to implement a new data repository and analytical tool to share data, network models and information and allow this data to be available across third party applications. High Pressure Metering Information System (HPMIS) is used to manage NGN's regulatory monitoring and reporting procedures on their high-pressure network. Again this solution has reached end of life in terms of application technology, meaning that it could no longer be upgraded to be supported on modern cloud platforms. DNV GL have redeveloped the HPMIS solution to ensure that the GDNS continue to have access to current functionality that is: • fit for purpose, both commercially and regulatory, • future proofed (GD2, hydrogen networks, biomethane), • utilises the most appropriate innovations and technologies, • delivers business agility and competitive advantage. These two applications will be hosted on DNV's SaaS infrastructure.
