Tender description

Gloucestershire Archives is an accredited local authority record office and a Gloucestershire County Council service. The Council currently use CALM and CALMview systems from Axiell to manage, identify, locate and access the archives, and have nearly 900,000 catalogue entries. Gloucestershire Archives provides the corporate and community memory for the historic county, including the area now called South Gloucestershire. The collections (in all formats, including digital) illustrate all aspects of the county’s life; their quality and significance for evidencing the story of Gloucestershire is unrivalled. The Archive service is also the lead partner in Gloucestershire Heritage Hub, a network of local people and organisations created in 2017 with a common interest in the historic county's documented heritage. Its members support each other to gather, keep and share their personal and community archives. The requirements of the archive management system for any future procurement will cover accessioning, archival description, online public searching of that description, custodial management/inventory control, collections care and ideally research room management including online document ordering capability.
