Tender description

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) intends to run a procurement exercise for the delivery of Translation and Transcription Services. The services are available to the Ministry of Justice, its executive agencies and its arm's length bodies, and any other Central Government Body who may require Translation and/or Transcription services. The scope of services includes the translation of written material and transcription of oral material as requested by courts, tribunals and other venues in England, Wales and Scotland from a source language into the requested language, format and within the required timescales. Services are anticipated to be contracted for an initial term of 4 years with an option to extend for period(s) up to 3 years. Translation of written material and transcription of oral material as requested by the Authority across England, Wales and Scotland into a second language or an accessible alternative format. The scope of services includes: — Translation of written material from one language to another as text: — Transcription of audio files, tapes and other electronic media into written and/or electronic text documents in the same or different languages. Transcription of written documents and/or electronic media into alternative formations such as (but not limited to) Braille, Easy Read, Print, Audio, Video and Pictorial English. — The review and revision of material already translated or transcribed (proof reading). The authority is currently considering the most appropriate strategy, and intends to conduct a market engagement phase to offer potential bidders an opportunity to provide feedback on the authority's proposals for tendering and awarding contracts. The authority intends to use the open procedure described in regulation 27. The procedure will include a selection stage to identify bidders capable of providing the services. The authority will evaluate only the tenders submitted by the bidders selected.
