Rivelin Primary and Manor Lane Building 7 Flat Roofing

Tender description

At Rivelin Primary School 5 flat roofs on Building A and 2 on Building B have deteriorated to the point that water ingress is causing damage to the building fabric. The proposal is to overlay 5 roof areas on Building A with a new single layer of felt and to apply a liquid waterproof coating to 2 roof areas on Building B. The new roof coverings will be fire resistant and guaranteed for 20 years. A redundant roof light will be removed and a lantern light replaced on Building A. 12Nr clerestory windows will also be replaced and a section of stonework beneath roof R10 will be taken down and rebuilt to address a structural fault. Some structural timber replacement is also anticipated, the extent of which will not be fully known until it is exposed during the works. Building 7 at Manor Lane is a 2 storey office block requiring an overlay of a failing flat roof to stop leaks. Following the removal of flaking asbestos containing material in the ceiling void the proposal is to remove 4Nr redundant flues before boarding over the openings and overlaying the existing covering with a single layer of felt. The new roof covering will be fire resistant and guaranteed for 20 years.
