St Mungo’s is seeking a partner with the skills, experience and financial capacity to deliver the replacement of both commercial heating and ventilation systems throughout 136 Church Walk. Church Walk provides housing related support and temporary accommodation to women aged 18-65 who are homeless and additionally vulnerable. Accepts single homeless women with high and medium support needs, including rough sleepers, those with substance use/mental health/complex needs and ex-offenders. The property forms part of the adjoining church as is purpose designed to provide shared accommodation for vulnerable residents. The contract will be a D&B JCT minor works building contract. St Mungo’s Community Housing Association (‘St Mungo’s’) has undergone an assessment on the condition of the ventilation systems and having undertaken independent advice surrounding the current condition of the plant, developed proposals and designs for the complete renewal of these assets. The aim of the project is to appoint a main contractor to deliver the replacement of both the commercial heating and ventilation systems throughout Church Walk. Church Walk provides housing related support and temporary accommodation to women aged 18-65 who are homeless and additionally vulnerable. Accepts single homeless women with high and medium support needs, including rough sleepers, those with substance use/mental health/complex needs and ex-offenders. The property forms part of the adjoining church as is purpose designed to provide shared accommodation for vulnerable residents. The property is 4 storeys high (including basement level) and is arranged in a cluster room formation, of which a group of residents has access to a shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. The project will also achieve the renewal of existing mechanical ventilation systems serving bathroom extraction, kitchen extraction, corridor extraction and Fire smoke suppression ventilation of central core staircase.
