Tender description

Removals and Storage, planned and reactive, for East Lothian Council. Removals for a capital works programme, minor works projects and day to day furniture and equipment moves within East Lothian Council schools, offices and public buildings. Removal and Storage service in East Lothian for domestic furniture and personal belongings in relation to the Council’s property maintenance programme as well as situations relating to homelessness, abandonments, evictions, decants, Scottish Welfare Fund community care grants and adult social work. Carpet fitting services will be required for removals, primarily associated with the Council’s property maintenance programme. In some circumstances the Council must comply with statutory requirements and timescales regarding the removal and storage of personal possessions and the Contractor must be able to comply with such. Storage must be secure and fit for purpose and within a practical visiting distance to allow clients access to their property on request. Disposal of items with the aim of maximising recycling and re-use opportunities.
