Tender description
Howth Fishery Harbour Centre is equipped with a "Syncrolift" boat or shiplift - This lift is used to raise vessels from the fishing basin to quay wall level from where they are towed into the DAFM Boatyard for work. The boatyard is equipped with 5 service bays, and 1 entry bay arranged “3 opposite 3”. Between these bays is a rail mounted cassette unit known as the traverser that is used to move vessels from side to side in order to be placed and removed in the appropriate bays, or brought out or return form the lift for raising / lowering. DAFM wish to tender for the design supply and installation of a system that will allow this unit to be moved from side to side using a powered system, that is controllable remotely by an operator
