Asbestos-removal work

Tender description

The Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (C&V UHB) are looking to implement a framework arrangement with asbestos service contractors. Typical works to be carried out will be: — removal of 120 sqm of vinyl tiles; — removal of ACM’s from a typical ward area (vinyl tiles, cement header panels, textile products, encapsulation of AIB shuttering and localised decontamination of risers); — community site boiler plant room asbestos remediation; — removal of sprayed coating debris from a ceiling void in a lab (70 sqm) under fully controlled conditions; — asbestos remediation removing thermal insulation debris from an underground plant room and, duct network under fully controlled conditions. Work completed under confined space protocol. Also included several other small enclosures. Works under the framework shall include, but not be limited to: — non notifiable asbestos removal works on low risk products such as vinyl, cement, textured coatings, etc.; — notifiable non-licensed works (disposing of contaminated waste); — removal of medium and higher risk ACM’s under fully controlled conditions; — the provision of safe access into contaminated areas for UHB workers and sub contractors; — collection of asbestos waste generated in house.
