Tender description

The West Midlands Metro has a fleet of 21 CAF Urbos three low floor trams. Each tram has two (2) motor and one (1) trailer bogie, which are due for a major overhaul. The P3 Inspection is required when a tram has covered 560 000 km, however, there is a +10 % tolerance (to 616 000 km). Therefore, it is imperative that the overhauls are completed to prevent any tram being taken out of service. The bogies will require inspections (in accordance with the specification) with the defined parts being overhauled to ensure that they are operationally sound. The successful bidder will also be expected to identify and highlight any additional findings that may negatively impact the operation of the bogie/s so that MML can make an informed decision on whether to approve additional works being carried out.
