South Lanarkshire Council is committed to working with our funeral director colleagues to provide a high standard of bereavement services to our communities and service users. The Council recognise the pressures both emotional and financial placed on individuals and families during a time of bereavement and wish to promote a fixed price dignified and affordable funeral service which would be known as the South Lanarkshire Council respectful funeral service. Applicants are invited to submit a fully completed agreement and to take particular cognisance of the high standards of service detailed in the specification. The successful funeral director/s whose returns are deemed to represent best value, with due regard for environmental and social benefits and taking cognisance of faith and other beliefs will have this service promoted by the council for a term of 2 years which may be extended by up to 24 months.
