Tender description
Transport for London (TfL) is launching a competition to find innovative solutions to help tackle fatigue experienced by bus drivers in the London. Transport for London (TfL) requested independent research services regarding fatigue in London bus drivers. The research was commissioned by TfL to understand the present situation with regard to fatigue and the report provides a roadmap to investigate solutions and to delve deeper into some of the observations made by the authors on driver fatigue across the London bus network. For the full report, please read here: http://content.tfl.gov.uk/bus-driver-fatigue-report.pdf Following from the findings of the report, TfL created a problem statement looking to innovators who can help reduce bus driver fatigue. The bus driver fatigue innovation challenge is launching today on 11th March. The project’s primary objective is to find innovative solutions which can reduce incidents of driver fatigue on the London bus network. The successful innovators will be working alongside our bus operators as following the completion of a successful competitive application process. Each project will run independently from each other and trials will likely start in late summer 2020. As part of the requirements for each project, independent analysis of the project would be undertaken throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the benefits of the project are realised and to provide independent evaluation of projects success. Please find attached presentation pack detailing instructions of how to apply for this challenge.
