Tender description

This procurement relates to the provision of certain sewage pumping inspection and maintenance works for Belfast Harbour Commissioners (BHC). BHC wishes to establish a framework agreement under which suitably qualified and competent contractors may be appointed to carry out certain works in relation to inspection and maintenance of sewage pumping stations within the Harbour Estate. BHC operates 34 sewage pumping stations on both sides of the Harbour Estate that crosses the River Lagan and are known as the County Antrim and County Down sides of the Estate. All pumping stations pump in a daisy chain system to the NI Water Herdman Channel road site on the County Down side to the NI Water site at Kinnegar. All of the pumping stations are rated at 24 cubic metres per hour per pump and consist of 2 sewage pumps per pumping station. Inspections are required on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis, subject to review of the inspection program by BHC. Further details of the scope of work required will be provided at the invitation to negotiate stage of this process. Except in exceptional circumstances, it is envisaged that the organisation which carries out the inspection work will also carry out any repair work required. Bidders are, inter alia, required to commit to a maximum on-site response time of within 2 hours following BHC's request for maintenance or repair work. Bidders should visit the site to be fully informed as to BHC's requirements. It is the bidder's responsibility to ensure that it has all the information necessary to respond to the tender process.
