The Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Dublin City is the local first-stop shop for new entrepreneurs and existing micro-enterprise and small business owners with 1-10 employees in Dublin City. As a section of Dublin City Council, the LEO Dublin City is the front door through which all information on State supports for small and micro-businesses can be accessed and signposted to as well as important local services and compliance requirements. LEO is the business connection into Dublin City Council, Enterprise Ireland and all State agencies that can help grow a business. Dublin City Council has set out its objective to support the creative industries as part of the action planning under the Dublin City Local Economic and Community Plan 2016 - 2021. Through the LEO and First Music Contact the need to support artists in developing their practices, with an awareness of the start-up and growth business opportunities and the range of supports available was identified. LEO and First Music Contact (FMC) are working together to build a Start Your Own Business Programme (SYOB) tailored for music industry professionals. LEO’s experience of supporting and training entrepreneurs and First Music Contact’s extensive experience of the needs of emerging musicians, lead to a fruitful and engaging pilot initiative.
