Tender description

The NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership, hosted by Velindre NHS Trust are acting on behalf of Cardiff and Vale University Local Health Board who are seeking to provide general medical services at Albert Road Surgery, Penarth. The Health Board are seeking to replace the provision of general medical services for the population currently registered with Albert Road Surgery in line with the direction set out in a Healthier Wales and the National Primary Care Model, the Health Board is keen for applications which will support the continued development of cluster working, as well as wider partnership working across primary and community care. Albert Road Surgery operates from purpose built premises on Albert Road in the centre of Penarth with no branch surgery and a list size of 6 350 as of October 2018. The practice serves a fairly static and affluent population. A high proportion of the population is over the age of 65. There are also around 9 care homes in the area. All practices in the cluster work collaboratively to provide high quality care to this population. Out of hours services are provided by the Health Board and protected learning time is supported through well attended CPET sessions.
