Tender description

The scope of this contract is for the provision of prestart, start-up, early-stage and later-stage business advice including supporting potential and actual growth orientated businesses founded by Newcastle University students and graduates. Newcastle University support current students and Newcastle University graduates (up to 3 years) across all subject groups. We have a large and heterogeneous client base that includes international graduates who have successfully secured leave to remain in the UK, via the Tier 1 (Graduate) Entrepreneur route, to start a business, and recent graduates awarded Founderships, a 6 month Start Up scholarship aimed at those with the potential to scale. NB Founderships is contingent on the University successfully raising funds to run the programme year-on-year. Our approach is person-centred. Our goal is to upskill our students and graduates, empowering and enabling them to progress their ideas and business. We incorporate elements of coaching into our one-to-one conversations to support the client to identify solutions and actions. Advice and support will be delivered face-to-face on Newcastle University premises, off-campus at the client’s business premises or at an alternative location potentially including our branch campus in London; via telephone, email or Skype. The successful supplier will provide up to 2 business advice professionals to join the Start-up Team on campus between 1 day and 5 days a week depending on the time of year and levels of demand. The agreement will be for between 90-110 days per year to deliver the open access business advice and around 30 days to support Founderships recipients. NB both are subject to change and the University securing the required funds.
