Tender description

The Council operates a fleet of approximately 700 items comprising of cars, small vans, mini buses, tippers, road sweepers, refuse collection vehicles, trailers and plant equipment. The Council is seeking a comprehensive framework of suppliers who can provide a range of vehicles/plant on a short term hire basis as and when required. If the required vehicle/plant cannot be supplied via this framework the Council at their discretion may source via an alternative method or framework agreement. The annual expenditure for short term hire is estimated to be circa 320 000 GBP based on previous expenditure across a number of suppliers. This value should be only used to indicate possible levels of business for this contract. The Council cannot guarantee any particular volume of business to any supplier. The contract will be awarded initially for a 2 year period; the Council reserves the right to extend for a further 2 year period. The extension is subject to quality of service and price remaining acceptable to the Council. The maximum contract period is 4 years. Prices are to be fixed for the initial 2 years and may be reviewed at the extension point.
