Tender description

Ulster University will shortly be undertaking a procurement exercise associated with the Greater Belfast Campus Development. The 2 new buildings which are directly opposite the existing campus contain approximately 250 flexible spaces ranging from 4-6 person meeting rooms, various teaching and social spaces to large 250 and 350 seater lecture theatres. Additional requirements include a digital signage solution and technology solutions for ‘specialist spaces’ which include: active learning studios, bloomberg room, moot court, academy training kitchen, gallery and exhibition space and students union. The University via this procurement exercise wants to put in place a contract for the procurement, installation and commissioning of a range of enabling technologies based on established technology specifications for each of the designated spaces outlined above. The estimated completion dates for handover of the buildings are Qtr. 4 2020-Qtr. 1 2021. Supply, installation and commissioning of AV end point technologies to equip small teaching and meeting rooms (Approx. 175 total) Simple systems based on a large format display (LFD) with integrated speakers and wireless presentation system. AV systems are to be controllable by a wall mounted panel, connected to the UU network and managed by the University’s existing Extron GVE System. Program audio is to be delivered using the LFD integrated speakers. A wall mounted AV connection panel facilitates hard wired HDMI connection. These spaces will have no teaching or technical furniture provision. The academy training kitchen is included in this lot as integration is required between training and adjacent teaching AV systems. Supply, installation and commissioning of end point technologies within standard teaching rooms (Approx. 75) and 2 specialist spaces (moot court and bloomberg room). Systems comprise an electric projection screen and a single, low maintenance data projector (unless specified otherwise). Teaching AV systems are controllable by a desk mounted manual panels (unless specified otherwise), mounted on the desk surface, connected to the UU network and managed by the University’s existing Extron GVE System. Sources include visualiser, fixed teaching PC and an AV connection panel facilitating hard wired HDMI connection. The audio system will comprise a mixer amplifier integrating with a ceiling speaker system*. (*already supplied installed and tested by others.)
