Tender description

To drill and complete a 4 500 m deep geothermal well at the Eden Project in Cornwall UK in Q3 2020. Procurement of drilling rig and crew to achieve the following geothermal well: Rig capacity 350-450 tonnes The well is anticipated to comprise 5 sections: 1) 30” surface to 40 m conductor; 2) 24” 40 m to 300 m 20” casing; 3) 17½” 300 m to 1 400 m 13 3/8” casing; 4) 12¼” 1 400 m to 4 110 m (MD) 9 5/8” casing; 5) 8½” 4 110 m to 5 000 m (MD) openhole. Item 1) Well location Eden Project, Bodelva, Par, Cornwall UK; 2) Well name EDG-1; 3) Expected well total depth nominal 4 700 m MD [4 500 m TVD BGL] to 5 000 m MD; 4) Co-ordinate location 204399E 055652N [British National Grid] (elevation ~130 ma OD); 5) Well classification geothermal; 6) Borehole type directional: deviated to max of 35 degrees; 7) Well completion barefoot, allowing hydraulic injection/production tests; 8) Expected open hole length maximum 1 000 m; 9) Geology biotite – lithium granite with kaolonised sections; 10) Target structure The Great Cross Course — steeply inclined fault structure striking NNW - SSE; 11) Est. reservoir pressure Hydrostatic (0,43psi/ft.= 9 727 m-2 kg s-2); 12) Est. BH temperature ~ 180 - 20OºC; 13) Expected formation fluids Saline water; 14) Expected hydrology low porosity/permeability; 15) Estimated spud date on or about Q3 2020; 16) Anticipated duration 150 days (excluding rig mob/demob).
