CETE092 Vital Valley: Digital Solutions - Soft Market Testing

Tender description

Vital Valley is a Great Place Scheme designed to inspire and enable people to have a sense of pride in and belonging to the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site (DVMWHS). We are looking for a consultant to provide a creative digital proposition, digital products and assist with recommendations for future work to bring the DVMWHS to life through Virtual or Augmented Reality (VR/AR). The DVMWHS has many remarkable buildings and a significant number are open to the public on a regular basis, e.g. Belper North Mill, Cromford Mills, and the re-imagined Museum of Making on re-opening in 2020. There are other buildings that are not open to the public, especially the workers housing and the buildings that have long been demolished. In addition, none of the mills have extensive, original spinning and carding equipment. Quality VR/AR presentations can bring them to life. Running between 2017 and 2020, the Vital Valley activities are the next step in engaging people with the uniqueness of the Derwent Valley. The industrial heritage of innovation and making will inspire arts activities for people to connect and communicate with the culture and heritage at the heart of the World Heritage Site. The activities are funded as a Great Place Scheme, a partnership between the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF), Arts Council England and supported by Historic England. Keywords: Digital
