Tender description

The following CCTV services have been procured via a restricted tendered route under the following lots. Lot 1: CCTV Monitoring Service; Lot 2: CCTV Maintenance Service. The tender opportunity was run electronically through the London Tenders Portal. The Council owns a hybrid (digital and analogue) community safety CCTV control room that is staffed, managed and operated 24-hours 365 days a year by an externally contracted company, who employ SIA licensed officers to meet their contractual obligations. The control room monitors 85 town centre cameras, 10 of which are shared with the separate bus lane enforcement CCTV control room; 75 car park cameras and a variable number (20, currently) of relocatable cameras. The car park CCTV cameras are provided in order to provide a safe environment for residents and they contribute as one of the necessary criteria for Bromley to achieve the Park Mark classification as provided by the Police. The operators are highly trained and qualified to monitor activity and incidents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and they are experienced in working with the Police, other partners and emergency services, assisting with an integrated approach to crime management and close liaison with key emergency services. As well as CCTV monitoring, other services are provided, for instance: the operation of the Bromley High Street traffic barrier and intercom, monitoring the town center radio system, car park security, and supporting special events including sports and carnivals. The Council requires a supplier to repair and maintain its CCTV control rooms at the Civic Centre and cameras and associated equipment installed at various locations around the borough. The contract will provide for the routine servicing of equipment and installations, an emergency call-out and breakdown repair service and the installation of new/replacement items of equipment.
