Tender description

The Contracting Authority is planning to undertake an open procurement process to award a 3 year contract with the option to extend by up to 2 periods of 12 months (3 + 1 + 1). The estimated total value (1 076 000 GBP) of the opportunity included in this notice is based on the total potential contract term of 5 years (3 + 1 + 1). The aims and objectives of the service will be to provide a non-emergency patient transport service for the dedicated use by the Trust’s Assessment Suite based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne. The service will provide transportation of patients between Trust sites, other NHS or Health Care Facilities or hospital discharges to patient’s homes or community setting. A PTS class ambulance with tail lift (or other mechanism) is required with 2 first aid trained crew (driver and attendent). The vehicle should be capable of transporting patients by chair, wheelchair and stretcher. The Service will require 1 ambulance to be available Monday to Sunday (including all public and bank holidays) from 10:00 to 22:00. An additional ambulance may be required to support winter pressures from 1 December to 31 March, Monday to Friday (including all public and bank holidays).
