The N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge Road Project - Detailed Ground Investigation Contract comprises Section A and B (Lot 1) and Section C and D (Lot 2)

Tender description

The N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge road project consists of the construction of 34km of Type 1 Single Carriageway from the tie-in point of the N5 Ballaghaderreen Bypass in the west, passing to the south of the village of Frenchpark, before crossing the existing N5 and passing to the north of Bellanagare and Tulsk villages. The route then passes to the north of Cloonullaan Lough, before turning in a southerly direction to pass east of Strokestown before re-connecting to the existing N5 at Scramoge. Lot 1 (Sections A & B) consists of the section of the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge route from the western tie-in point on the existing N5 to the N61 National Secondary Road. Lot 2 (Sections C & D) consists of the section of the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge route from the N61 National Secondary Road to the eastern tie-in to the existing N5 at Scramoge. Ground investigation contract for N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramoge road project includes: Cable percussion boreholes; Rotary core boreholes; Dynamic probes; Cone Penetration Tests: Trial pits; Slit trenches; Geophysical Surveying; Recording of surface water levels; Monitoring of groundwater levels in standpipes/piezometers; Groundwater and soil material testing; Preparation of a factual report and interpretive ground investigation report in accordance with the Specification. The Contractor shall act as PSCS for the duration of the works
