Tender description

UK Shared Business Services Ltd acting on behalf of the contracting authority United Kingdom Research and Innovation have put in place a contract for cloud hosting and support services. This contract has been awarded in alignment with the Crown Commercial Services RM1557.11 G Cloud 11 framework. UK Shared Business Services Ltd acting on behalf of the contracting authority United Kingdom Research and Innovation have put in place a contract for cloud hosting and support services for the following UKRI platforms: 1)_Connect; 2) Grants; 3) KTP. As part of the ongoing hosting and maintenance service provision, a series of service enhancements and upgrades have been agreed, which will be delivered over the term of the forthcoming contract. These upgrades and enhancements are: 1) Implementation of new load balancer on Connect and Grants; 2) Implementation of new monitoring and network control systems; 3) Upgrade of all core firewall firmware to the latest versions (currently on latest branch); 4) Switch to new virtualisation and storage platform; 5) Deployment of new DNS infrastructure to remove reliable on static host files; 6) Upgrade of all sub-systems to Debian 9 or 10; 7) Upgrade of Apache Solr and MySQL to latest versions; 8) Rewrite of all firewall rules to improve security and reduce load on new firewall appliances; 9) Implementation of automatic penetration testing; 10) Rebuild of the Atlassian DevTools stack within AWS – latest version (currently on latest in branch) and improved scaling/resilience; 11) Liferay (6.2) Upgrade completion; 12) OpenAM Upgrade completion. This contract has been awarded in alignment with the Crown Commercial Services RM1557.11 G Cloud 11 framework.
