Aims and Objectives of the Service • The Provider shall work within the general aims, objectives and scope of the Service detailed in this Specification, or otherwise notified to the Provider during the Contract Period. However, the Provider shall work flexibly to ensure the aims and objectives of the Service are achieved. • The Provider shall provide the Service in a manner that allows Service Users to live independently with any risk, either to themselves or others, minimised through assessment, management and support. • The Provider shall be capable of working with people with a varying level and variety of needs. • The Provider’s staff shall have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience of working with community organisations. • The Provider shall have an understanding of how to access specialist services including care, health, and benefits services. The aim of the service is to achieve long-term increases in levels of physical activity in the Authority’s population, focusing on engaging those who were previously inactive (undertaking less than thirty (30) minutes of physical activity per week) in activities which are acceptable and accessible to them. Objectives: • To publicise and promote the Service; • To provide Group Courses; • To provide opportunities for inactive residents in the Authority; • To engage with GP surgeries; • To achieve high levels of continued attendance on Group Courses; • To signpost Service Users and Groups to other relevant services; and • To support Groups to develop a plan for how they can continue to be physically active after the end of the course.
