Tender description

YPO were looking for a provider to be appointed onto a framework agreement for the provision of a mobile phone subscription service for transport providers and a free downloadable application for parents. The application is aimed at integrating collection and delivery points, routes, times forecast, intelligent notifications, near field communication (NFC) stickers, mobile devices/tablets and finger print recognition hardware and all information to help provide parents with the necessary safeguarding information required whilst their children are on school transport. This will also include a requirement to cover all forms of transportation of schools for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. This offering is designed to complement the already existing Local Authority arrangements with transport providers. YPO required a strategic partnership with a single source provider offering a software service which will connect all relevant stakeholders (i.e. parents and transport providers) pertinent to the safeguarding of pupils/vulnerable persons via a portal or application system. The integrated solution will allow for the exchange of secure information between the school and parents. All information encompassing notice of absence, route changes, traffic delays and more, must be performed via a single interconnected platform. The application must be designed to optimise security and to help enhance the level of control that the stakeholders have over all users. The software must notify all stakeholders and guardians of the persons status throughout a designated commute from the moment they board the mode of transportation to the moment they leave. The software must cover all information to help provide parents with the necessary safeguarding information required whilst their children are on school transport. This will also include a requirement to cover all forms of transportation of schools for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
