Tender description

Lancashire County Council's provision of household essentials service provides support for the people of Lancashire who need help to maintain or establish a home. Specifically, it provides essential furniture and electrical items to those individuals/families who are experiencing a major upheaval or adverse event and who do not have access to sufficient income or funds to meet their immediate needs. The fixed annual budget for this service is up to 300 000 GBP. Specifically, it provides essential furniture and electrical items to those individuals/families who are experiencing a major upheaval or adverse event and who do not have access to sufficient income or funds to meet their immediate needs. The overall objectives of the service are to: — help service users to maintain or establish a home through supporting them to access second-hand or new furniture and electrical items, — help service users in crisis situations by understanding their underlying needs and referring them into relevant pathways/agencies for additional support, — reduce waste by increasing the use of second-hand furniture and electrical goods, — support local communities through providing employment, training and work experience opportunities for the people of Lancashire. Prior to any recommissioning of the service, we are engaging with potential providers and other relevant stakeholders about our proposed approach and would welcome a response from your organisation.
