Network Rail is required to safely and economically manage its structures assets. The purpose of the Civils Assessment Framework Agreement (CAFA) is to provide structures capability insight to enable Network Rail to continue the safe, efficient and optimal management of the capability of its structure's assets. Structural Assessment is part of a control barrier to prevent functional failure of structures assets. The quality of the assessment activities and associated insight and recommended management actions provided by the Supplier will contribute to Network Rail fulfilling its obligations. The requirements for assessments are described within Network Rail’s standards NR/L2/CIV/035 and all associated modules.
