The Provision of an Employee Assistance Programme (incl. Employee Counselling)

Tender description

The Council is seeking to procure an Employee Assistance Programme that includes an Employee Counselling Service. The Council employs between 2500 – 3000 people, with approximately 4000 more who work within schools. In the past several smaller organisations (such as parish councils and individual schools) have accessed counselling under this contract via the Council, and we would expect this type of arrangement to continue. The Council is looking to award an initial 3 year contract with the option to extend for a further 1 year. Our staff are used to counselling being delivered in a face-to face situation, and we envisage that to be the normal approach. Other consultation methods might be suitable for some individuals, but this would be an unusual arrangement. At the moment the Council (including Schools), operates a ‘pay as you go’ contract on an individual counselling session basis and does not commit to a particular number of sessions; the number will depend on the demand from the workforce.
