Tender description
The Council seeks a contractor to perform the following: 1) Wooden Post and Rail Fencing to Allotments • Product Reference: Timber post and three rail fence • Standard: To BS 1722-7, Type SPR 11/3 • Softwood to be used, treatment: Tanalith E • Height of fence: 1250mm to top of top rail • Mesh: Secure chicken wire 850mm above ground plus that below ground (Bury into the 100mm and turned 150mm). Fixed to fence using heavy duty galvanised staples. • Posts: 75 x 150 x 1800mm long with single weathered top • Rails: 38 x 87mm butt jointed at centre line of post and secured with galvanised clout head nails. • The maximum centres of posts: 1.8m • Posts to be set using 300mm square or round holes • Accessories: Single leaf field gate • Conformity – submit manufacturer’s and installer’s certificates to BS 1722-7 2) Field Gates and Posts to Allotments • Product Reference: Steel field gate • Size: 1100mm high x 3600mm • Tubular steel framed gate and posts to be used. • Treatment of posts: Hot dip galvanized to BS EN ISO 1461 to provide minimum of 30 years service. • Gate: Tubular steel framed gate with 3 vertical and 2 diagonal braces. • Posts: - Hanging post: 115mm dia tubular steel x 2000mm long with cap, base plate and vertical flanges at the base. - Shutting post 89mm dia tubular steel x 2000mm long with cap, base plate and vertical flanges at the base. • Fittings: Two adjustable hook and band hinges, hasp and stable and padlock. Finish: Hot dip galvanized to BS EN ISO 1461 • Setting of posts: Concrete foundation, 450mm square x 750mm deep with minimum 75mm cover to finished ground level. • Accessories: Warning notice • Access to the site is from the High Street, Longstanton. The map below shows the site location within the wider Northstowe development. To the west of the site runs a bridleway. • All on-site work must be completed within the hours 8am - 6pm. Monday - Friday and 8am - 1pm Saturday and at no time on Sundays, Bank or Public Holidays, unless agreed in writing by the Local Planning Authority. Keywords: Fencing
