Tender description

The purpose of this prior information notice is to encourage any organisation interested in providing these types of services to engage with the Trust. Further engagement options are available as the Trust wish to hold a provider day for the Trust to explain in more detail the infrastructure currently available and to discuss and take advice/guidance from the market on available options dates to be confirmed after the submission have been evaluated. Please provide the details above on a word document by 17.00 27.9.2019 via the Intend e-tendering portal. Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) are an acute hospital provider with hospitals in Doncaster (Doncaster Royal Infirmary — DRI), Worksop (Bassetlaw District General Hospital — BDGH) and Mexborough (Mexborough Montagu Hospital — MMH). The current on site bleep system has been in operation across the Trust (3 sites) for over 20 years and is now end of service life. The Trust also utilises a range of wide area pagers for staff when the user does not have to be on site but needs to keep in contact with work. The absolute minimum requirement of a replacement system will be the provision of an onsite paging, or bleep system. This is an essential tool in the operation of the Trust and in delivering critical services such as crash calls and other emergency responses. There will also be a requirement to have an alternative ‘paging’ service for emergency situations, for example if the WiFi or mobile networks are offline for resilience. The Trust is exploring options for what this replacement looks like to take advantage of smart phones within the Trust (whether Trust owned or personal). To replace on a like for like basis is not an efficient way of operating in the 21st century. The Trust is seeking a system that allows for multiple uses with increased clinical safety and a full audit trail from potential replacement communication systems. A principle aim of the Trust is to ‘future-proof’ as far as is possible any new system. The replacement system will likely be a 150-200 user solution.
