Tender description
When a death occurs in the community that is unexplained, unusual or suspicious, it is referred to the Coroner for investigation. Hampshire County Council are releasing this invitation to tender on behalf of the Coroner within Hampshire for the provision of a service to transfer the deceased, where a death has been referred for further investigation. The service will also include removal, collection of the deceased and transportation of organs. Transfers will normally be to a mortuary within Hampshire. Transportation will normally be from a medical facility outside of Hampshire to a medical facility within Hampshire. The requirement under Lot 1 – urgent removals, is for removals that need to be performed urgently across Hampshire. This will be a reactive part of the service. The supplier will be required to perform 24 hours a day, 365 days per year within 30-60 minutes. Once removed, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This lot covers Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. Fareham, Gosport, Portsmouth, Havant and East Hampshire South are currently managed by Portsmouth City Council however, Hampshire County Council is taking the lead in the procurement process for the wider county. Portsmouth City Council will be consulted with as part of the tendering process and are under no obligation to be legally bound to a contract by Hampshire County Council, however this may change during the term of the contract. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This Lot 2 covers the new forest area of Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a Supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This Lot 3 covers Hart, East Hampshire and Rushmoor area of Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This Lot 4 covers Basingstoke and Deane area of Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This Lot 5 covers Test Valley area of Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a Mortuary within Hampshire. This Lot 6 covers Southampton and Eastleigh South area of Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This Lot 7 covers Winchester and Eastleigh North area of Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This is an optional lot — Lot 8 covers Fareham, Gosport and Portsmouth area of Hampshire and will be awarded to one supplier. The Coroner within Hampshire is searching for a supplier to perform removals and collections of the deceased. For the removals provision, the supplier will need to perform 24 hours per day, 365 days per year within a maximum of 90 minutes. The collections provision will be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. Once removed or collected, on most occasions, the deceased will then be transferred to a mortuary within Hampshire. This is an optional lot This Lot 9 covers Hayling Island, Havant and East Hampshire South area and will be awarded to one supplier. There may be occasions where Organs are transported between facilities, for further investigations into deaths. Lot 10 is for the Transportation of Organs from a medical facility, normally outside of Hampshire, to a medical facility or mortuary within Hampshire. This part of the service will need to be performed Monday-Friday within core hours. This lot will be awarded to one supplier.
