As part of the European Regional Development Fund supported Zero Energy Building Catalyst (ZEBCat) DCC is tendering for a deep retrofit solution for our second largest office building, Great Moor House. This tender is part of DCCs ambition to deliver deep retrofits (>20 % energy reduction) and incorporating non-energy benefits into business cases. A key aspect of this tender is that the solution must deliver a least a 40 % reduction in total grid supplied energy (electricity and/or gas) over a year, equating to 631 219 kWh. As part of the European Regional Development Fund supported Zero Energy Building Catalyst (ZEBCat) DCC is tendering for a deep retrofit solution for our second largest office building, Great Moor House. We are keen to see an ambitious solution including thermal fabric improvements, further decarbonisation of energy supply and internal environment quality improvements that will act as an exemplar for future projects. This tender is part of DCCs ambition to deliver deep retrofits (>20 % energy reduction) and incorporating nonenergy benefits into business cases. We see these extra benefits as increase in staff productivity from healthier building environments and also reduction in maintenance costs. A key aspect of this tender is that the solution must deliver a least a 40 % reduction in total grid supplied energy (electricity and/or gas) over a year, equating to 631,219 kWh. This key performance indicator will notbe based on meter readings but a ‘desk-top’ analysis by the winning tenderer of the solutions technical performance using technology/material manufacturer specifications. Since the start of the ZEBCat programme there have been some energy efficiency improvements to Great Moor House totalling 51,845 kWh per year and these can be Included in the tenderers response. A cost-saving guarantee is required for the first three years in partnership with independent monitoring and verification. DCC will include Power Purchase Agreements and leases for any renewables or energy storage solution that the tenderer would like to provide outside of the capital payment. The tender is fixed-price and needs to be delivered by January 2020 at the latest.
