Polar orbiting satellite data reception infrastructure

The Met Office has identified a potential requirement for the provision of polar orbiting satellite data reception infrastructure. Some of our existing reception infrastructure is approaching end-of-life, so we are considering how we might meet our requirements for the future. In light of the above, the Met Office are currently seeking informal expressions of interest and some insight from the market as to the current capabilities on offer, in order to help inform us of what the most optimal solutions might be to meet our future requirements. Further information can be obtained by contacting megan.brine@metoffice.gov.uk , who will be able to provide you with: a) further detail on our existing infrastructure and our potential future needs; b) instructions on how to submit an informal expression of interest and provide some information to the Met Office about your capabilities in meeting our potential requirements. PLEASE NOTE - this notice is an information gathering exercise rather than a call for competition, and therefore publication or response does not commit the Met Office or any respondents to a future procurement, nor provide any process exemptions or preferential treatment to any parties expressing an interest. The Met Office will not be liable for costs incurred by any interested party in participating in this exercise.
