Tender description

To deliver business support, commercialisation and investment services to members of the Green Growth Platform, the wider Clean Growth UK network and other associated businesses and organisations. Support for business owners on the development of a business strategy to achieve commercial success and to accelerate their innovation idea where appropriate. Support for business plan development, vision and purpose, values, market proposition, sales strategy, financial and resource planning and setting goals for development. Practitioners of the strategy on a page business tool and those who have experience of using the business model canvas or similar strategy tracking tools are encouraged to support businesses on a 1:1 or 1:many Workshop basis. Coaches will be expected to produce a scope of work, agreed actions with the business, coaching notes and a summary of the support on completion. To support businesses in preparing for investment and navigating the investment landscape. Through having direct or related experience of attracting investment for innovation and growth through either crowdfunding, equity or debt funding and investment options. Deliverables would include supporting the development of an investor ready business plan and suite of due diligence documentation. This would be delivered on a 1:1 basis Note — this is not an investment advisory role as we are not regulated by the FSA. Support to translate market knowledge into tangible actions using a battery of different media and messages, providing the key to more effective sales and market reach. This may include brand development. Businesses would be supported to develop a documented marketing strategy and plan of action. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support for businesses/entrepreneurs with preparing pitches for investment – either directly or via pitch-fest style events. Concentrating on content and presentation style and practical help on preparing the best pitch and slide deck, and providing support to practice pitches. Also support on ‘how to work the room’ and develop an elevator pitch for use at business and investment events to find the help you need. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support for businesses to make strategic sales either with a ‘Big Sale’, strategic alliances, distribution partners or through a licence, franchise, equity stake or buy out. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support for businesses with information and knowledge to access finance for their business this can include support on how to explore the funding landscape, understanding the different types of funding available, how to raise finance and investment, completing grant applications, including specialist knowledge and advice on loans, grant applications, R&D tax credits, crowd funding and angel/VC investors. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support to prepare and deliver a recorded seminar or webinar that takes a detailed look at all the due diligence documentation required for investment. This is in a business planning capacity rather than an advisory capacity. This might be delivered on an ad-hoc 1:1 basis but the intention is for this support area to be available through our website resource pages. Support for businesses to protect their intellectual property, with specialist legal advice on design registration, copyright, trademarks, patent searches and filing and developing non disclosure/commercial development agreements. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support for businesses to understand what legal documents should be in place when developing their business and/or commercialising innovation, including most aspects of employment and commercial law. Support for businesses on shareholder agreements, licences, contracts, share and asset sale transactions, credit and debt recovery, GDPR and corporate structure and managing business relationships. We will not support businesses with reactive or contentious issues, and will only support with preventative and mitigating legal support. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support for businesses on developing more energy and resource efficient processes in their operations, including exploring in-depth technical knowledge of how to save energy and/or resources in upstream/downstream processes and how automation and the internet of things (IoT) and Industry 4.0 can be adopted to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and/or resource use and save costs. The purpose of this support will be to help businesses reduce their energy use and/or environmental impact and/or to identify innovation ideas and opportunities that could be supported by the University partners or other support partners. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support for businesses on bid writing to win public and private sector business. Specialist expertise will be imparted to improve the quality of submission and success rate of tender bids, in particular how to navigate large organisation and public procurement processes. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching or via a 1:many workshop. Support for social enterprise set up and development, including Community Interest Company (CIC) or charity registration. This will be delivered through 1:1 coaching
