Tender description

Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) has an on-going need to hire plant and equipment to enable it to undertake its day to day operations. These requirements have been broken down into the following lots: Lot 1: Operated Plant; Lot 2: Non-operated plant; Lot 3: Tool and Fencing Hire; Lot 4: Site Accommodation; Lot 5: Traffic Lights. To ensure availability of plant and equipment and that the highest levels of service are delivered, RMBC has made multiple awards against each lot. When a requirement arises, call-off arrangements will be decided based on the best overall price for each specific requirement. The provider with the best value option will be contacted in the first instance to confirm availability in the time required; if this provider cannot commit to the work the Council will approach the next best value supplier for availability and so on. This lot includes, but is not restricted to, the hire of: — operated JCB’s, — operated mechanical road sweepers, — operated tracked and wheeled excavators, all sizes, — operated asphalt finishers, all sizes, — operated road planers, all sizes, and — operated lorries of varying sizes. This lot includes, but is not restricted to, the hire of: — non-operated rollers, — Non-operated dumpers – all sizes, and — non-operated excavators – all sizes. This lot includes, but is not restricted to, the hire of: — Heras fencing or equivalent, — tower floodlights, — breakers, petrol, hydraulic and air driven, — Vib compactors, various weights, forward and reverse, trenching, — stone cutter, — floor saws, — pumping equipment, — lifting equipment, — concreting equipment, — trenching equipment, and — other miscellaneous building items and their associated apparatus. This lot includes, but is not restricted to, the hire of the following: — high security combined plant safe and 8 seater welfare unit, — high security plant safe. This lot includes, but is not restricted to, the hire of the following: — 2 way battery operated traffic lights, including relevant Chapter 8 signage, — 3 way battery operated traffic lights, including relevant Chapter 8 signage, — 4 way battery operated traffic lights, including relevant Chapter 8 signage, — stop and Go boards, remote control.
