Sheldon is a single academy trust, having achieved academy status in April 2011. The school campus has benefitted from significant investment over the last 15 years, including the main communal eating areas – the refectory which was opened in 2011 and the diner which was opened in 2013. The school has a further 5 catering outlets situated across the school campus including a mobile trailer which was acquired in 2016 known as the shelpod. A fastrak biometric cashless catering system was also introduced in 2015.
