Tender description

The Council is tendering its supported local and school bus services across the whole county, and the park and ride service at Truro. The Council is looking to use innovation and quality to increase use of public transport. Integrating rail and bus travel provides opportunity to reduce dependency on private motor vehicles. There are 73 bus routes to be tendered which equates to approximately 50 % of the current local bus network across Cornwall. The remainder is operated commercially under the deregulated bus market and outside of this procurement. There are 260 school bus routes across Cornwall to be tendered which relates to school bus closed contracts. Truro Park and Ride covers the provision of the current services (PR1 and PR1A) operating within Truro City Centre and shall also include site management and associated duties maintaining and operating a safe and secure site.
