NWSSP procurement services is issuing this PIN to engage with the market for third sector voluntary services. Swansea Bay University Health Board currently spends approximately 2 800 000 GBP through service level agreements with third sector organisations to deliver a range of services and support for our population across the local authority areas of Swansea and Neath Port Talbot. Services are delivered across the Health Board footprint in the following areas: — advocacy, — cancer support services, — information, advice and guidance, — carers, — young carers, — children and young people mental health support, — adult mental health support services, — learning disability support services, — reablement services, — service user development and support, — children with disability services, — stroke, — dementia, — substance misuse services, — bereavement, — community resilience, — LGBT services, — sexual health services, — integrated play. The health board sees the third sector as a crucial partner in both building community and individual resilience and in delivering services differently to support people’s well-being as well as contributing to the aims of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 in providing earlier interventions, more preventative services and improving people’s ability to manage their own well-being and health. In line with its strategic framework for the Voluntary Sector 2017-2020 the health board is now seeking to commence a procurement exercise for all of its third sectors services. The framework was co-developed and co-produced with the sector and outlines an ambitious programme of change. It outlines 3 main areas of work — engagement and relationships; service delivery and transformation (including funding) and volunteering. Our ambition is that the health board and the third sector will further develop our existing strong and effective relationships, leading to more services being delivered jointly across both local authority regions, ensuring that partnership and funding arrangements are effective and efficient. We would like to invite third sector providers to the first in a series of pre-procurement market engagement events to: — understand the intentions of the market and identify any challenges or barriers, — enable the health board to understand how our current service needs can shaped and delivered by the sector, — inform the health board of the current market position and possible options available.
