Tender description

Royal Berkshire Fire Authority ‘the Authority’ is seeking to award a contract for the construction of a new Fire Station at Theale, Reading. This tender is for the appointment of the main contractor to build the new fire station, including the required ground remediation works. The Authority has recently carried out a tender for the remediation works and identified a remediation contractor and agreed price for this part of the project. The appointed main contractor will therefore be required to take on this supplier as a listed domestic subcontractor. The main contractor will be responsible for the appointment of all other subcontractors. The successful supplier will need to be able to commence mobilisation in February 2020 and the complete construction of the fire station by July 2021. The appointed main contractor will therefore be required to take on this supplier as a listed domestic subcontractor. The tender is being run as a 2 stage tender. Suitably experienced organisations are invited to complete the SSQ/PAS91 included in this tender pack. The Authority intends to shortlist six suppliers to tender for this project. The successful supplier will need to be able to commence mobilisation in February 2020 and the complete construction of the fire station by July 2021. This tender pack includes a range of supporting information. The final bill of quantities will be available shortly. The model form of contract used will be a JCT Standard Building Contract 2016 with Quantities with contractor’s design portions.
