GMIT Apprentice Workshop Project Summer 2019

Tender description

The Contracting Authority (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology) intends to award a contract under the open procedure for works which involves the relocation of the existing Automation Lab (736) to former training Kitchen (Room 559). The space vacated by the automation lab along with adjoining stores and existing apprentice workshop will be reconfigured to form 2No new apprentice workshops and a new storage area. This work will also result in the minor modifications to other spaces in the vicinity of the workshop. The main area of work is concentrated in two areas either side of the service road (see Appendix 1 – Site Layout). This will be a turnkey project which will be ready to move into upon completion. The main elements involved are as follows: • Demolitions. • Construction of new walls / formation of door opes • Formation of metal framed cubicles • Install of new Internal Doors. • Electrical alterations. • Mechanical alterations. • Electrical fitout (power, lighting, data) • Decoration. • Floor finishes. • Relocation of workshop equipment. • Firestopping • Installation of furniture (benching, shelving & storage units). • Installation of Blackout blinds. • Cleaning Contract Awarded to Conneally Maintenance 01.07.2019
