Tender description

Dept. for Transport with associated Central Government Bodies is leading a procurement to put in place a Framework Agreement with suitably qualified freight operators to provide Ro-Ro or Ro-Ro equivalent freight capacity, regardless of transport mode, to ensure the continued flow of Category 1 goods (including those which are critical to the preservation of human and animal welfare,and/or national security) as part of UK Government’s future resilience planning. Suppliers securing a place on the framework will have the opportunity to take part in ‘call-off’ mini-competitions or direct awards for freight capacity contracts. The first of these expected to be in place as part of Government’s contingency planning for a ‘No Deal’ EU Exit on 31.10.2019. This is to inform and engage with the market ahead of an OJEU Process, expected in July.
