Note : This is a Prior Information Notice to inform the market and commence market engagement. It is NOT a call for competition or other tender exercise. The original published notice can be viewed at https://ted.europa.eu/udl?uri=TED:NOTICE:300399-2019:TEXT:EN:HTML&src=0 Dept. for Transport with associated Central Government Bodies is leading a procurement to put in place aFramework Agreement with suitably qualified freight operators to provide Ro-Ro or Ro-Ro equivalent freightcapacity, regardless of transport mode, to ensure the continued flow of Category 1 goods (including thosewhich are critical to the preservation of human and animal welfare,and/or national security) as part of UKGovernment's future resilience planning. Suppliers securing a place on the framework will have the opportunityto take part in 'call-off' mini-competitions or direct awards for freight capacity contracts. The first of these is expected to be in place as part of Government's contingency planning for a 'No Deal' EU Exit on 31.10.2019.This is to inform and engage with the market ahead of an OJEU Process, expected in July.
